A new website for our 2nd Birthday!
November 1st marks our 2nd birthday! With two main stage productions, a special free matinee of #poolparty for Prince George's County kids, a reading of a new play at the Kennedy Center, and of course #thedeepend, our most popular specialty cocktail to date, it was a remarkable year. We broke ticket sales and audience records, partnered with community organizations like the Prince George's County Arts and Humanities Council and Black Kids Swim, collected pool stories, developed three new scripts and welcomed the Bowlding family, whose story inspired the creation of #poolparty, to our truly special opening night. None of this would have been possible without your support!! We are so grateful to our artists, our audiences, our neighborhood, our community, and, of course, our home base at Joe's Movement Emporium.
2019 will bring more new programming and the community conversations that are quickly becoming a hallmark of our organization. As we aim to deepen our relationship with our audience and neighbors, we seek to upgrade our website so that it, like Ally, reflects our company mission - to connect with and engage our audiences with programming that confronts and acknowledges systemic oppression in America. All proceeds from the Community Halloween Dance Party and any donations we receive between now and November 1st will go toward this project.
We thank you again for your support! And we cannot wait to show you what's in store next season.
Onward!!
