Fundraising on behalf of Lights Out Volleyball
Miguel and his father (Mario)/mother (Carmi) all came from families who struggled financially and were fortunate to find ways to access great coaching and opportunities to play volleyball and develop their skills because others contributed their money, time and expertise. We are forever grateful and have found ways to give back including Miguel and Miya (Miguel's fiance and Carmi's soon to be daughter-in-law) volunteer coaching in Mexico where Miguel received his first formal volleyball training as well as coaching and fundraising for this amazing program, LOV.
Lights Out Volleyball (LOV) is a Chicago-based 501c3 non-profit, providing equal access opportunities to the sport of volleyball, raising the human consciousness of sports.
We believe that sports-based youth leadership development is a vehicle to impact social change by mentoring the future leaders of our world.
$23k in 2023 will help kickstart our overall fundraising goal of $100,000 for 2023.
These funds are necessary to provide clinics and camps throughout our 8 Impact Zones + LOV Extensions by offsetting our programming costs, such as gym rentals, park permits, coaching fees and professional development.

Please join Miguel, Miya and Carmi by contributing your talents, money and/or sharing the LOV with others. Thank you for making a positive difference in the lives of our young people.

Volleyball has been very good for our family. Both sons benefitted from club volleyball experience, played in college (club for one, varsity for one). They both now coach volleyball - one at Wells Community Academy HIgh School in Chicago, and one at Stevens Institute of Technology (currently #1 in DIII Men's Volleyball). They are both shaping boys and men's lives through their mentoring. LOV is such a great expression of LOVE for those who don't have the resources.
