Teen traffic deaths are rising at an alarming rate. In just a few short years, teen fatalities have increased by more than 30% in both North Carolina and Virginia. These aren’t just statistics. They’re sons, daughters, classmates, and friends whose lives were cut short.

Teen Driving Solutions School (TDSS) exists to change this.

For more than 15 years, TDSS has delivered proven, hands-on advanced driving education that helps teens avoid crashes before they happen. Now, we’re ready to bring that life-saving training directly to communities that need it most.

Introducing the TDSS Mobile Skid Car Program

To dramatically expand access to advanced car-control training, TDSS is launching a Mobile Skid Car Program serving North Carolina and Virginia.

This program will allow us to train 3,000 additional teens every year with a focus on students who currently have no access to real-world crash-prevention education.

The Skid Car system safely simulates slippery roads, loss of traction, and emergency situations, allowing teens to experience and recover from loss of control in a controlled environment. They don’t just learn what to do, they learn how it feels to do it.

If a teen has never experienced loss of control, they won’t know how to respond or how their vehicle will react to their response should an evasive maneuver be required. The TDSS Skid Car Program gives teens the skills, awareness, and muscle memory to survive the unexpected.

Our goal is to help reduce teen fatalities in both states by 15% over the next three years.
