Fundraising on behalf of CHABAD OF BUCKHEAD & BROOKHAVEN INC
If you know me, you know how much this community means to me. When I moved to Atlanta, I didn’t know a single person. From the very beginning, Rabbi New and the Buckhead community welcomed me as if I were family. There was never a Friday night when I did not have a place to share a Shabbat meal, and many of my closest friends today are people I first met through Chabad. This community has become my home, and I feel so grateful to be part of it.
When I stepped into the role of Chair of the Development Committee at the Buckhead Shul, I was surprised to learn that our community did not yet have a Torah of its own. Each week we borrow a Sefer Torah from other communities, which is not always easy to arrange. There were even times when all we had was a small children’s Torah to carry us through Shabbat. Fundraising for a Sefer Torah of our own became our top priority.
A Torah is more than just a scroll. It is the heart of Jewish life, the source of our prayers, and the anchor of our community. Having our own Torah will mean that every Shabbat, holiday, and celebration can be fully ours, without worry or limitation. It will allow the Buckhead Shul to grow, to thrive, and to continue being a place of connection and meaning for so many.
Many thanks for your consideration!
