Comfort Kits for Children® are low-cost, easy-to-assemble kits developed by psychologists and pediatricians to help children cope with traumatic experiences — including natural disasters, community violence, and medical trauma. Each kit does two important things:
① Teaches six Mind-Body Comfort Activities — evidence-informed practices, with simple toys and written instructions, that help children manage stress, regulate difficult emotions, and gain a sense of comfort.
② Creates shared experiences between caregiver and child — because doing these activities together builds connection, and connection is itself a powerful form of support.

6 Mind-Body Comfort Activities |
- We share and show playful mind-body activities so children can practice mind-body play!
- 2026 Goals:
- Collaborate with mobile health care in Chicago
- Immigration-related stress
- Continue to liaison with international children's groups, so Comfort Kits can help support children impacted by war.
With your generous support, children receive a Comfort Kit that contains simple toys and items associated with mind-body comfort activities. These playful practices help them regulate difficult feelings, create comfort, and cope with challenges like pain and disrupted sleep. We provide translated instructions and video guidance for caregivers and children. Our newest addition can be found on Youtube, as a video entitled "49words to reduce stress." There is a companion set of 5 colorful cards, and a color-changing mood ring that is simple biofeedback for children to see that their thoughts, feelings, and body experiences are connected!
Comfort Kits cost about $15 US dollars and the "49words to reduce stress" cards and mood ring cost about $5 USD. For $20 you can provide very valuable "treasures" for children in need of emotional support.
We greatly appreciate your donations to support this initiative and provide children with enduring coping skills! To date, they have allowed us to send nearly 2000 kits to children around the world, facing disasters, war, and community violence. We continue to liaison with groups around the world. We are excited to have more impact in Chicago!
