Goal
What do you do when your 4.5 year old dog is diagnosed with cancer? First, you cry. Then you ask "what are our options?" That's what I did in 2004, when Kirby, my 4.5 year old dog, was diagnosed with lymphoma.
But treatment isn't cheap. In fact, canine cancer treatment is very, very expensive. Thankfully, I had a group of very good friends that helped me to afford it, but not every person has that community. So in October 2026, I am going to be running the Chicago marathon to benefit Live Like Roo Foundation, which provides support and financial assistance to families whose pet is facing a cancer diagnosis.
