2026 Chicago Marathon

Thank you so much for visiting my fundraising page. This cause is deeply personal to me.

As many of you know, I’m a veterinarian at Boulevard Veterinary, where I first learned of the Live Like Roo foundation, an amazing organization who we partner closely with.  Live Like Roo provides emotional and financial support to families whose pets have been diagnosed with cancer. They help bridge the gap between wanting to pursue treatment and being able to pursue it, something I see impact families every single day.  I have helped to firsthand provide treatment to some of the sweet patients who are able to receive care through this inspiring foundation. 

Earlier this year, I lost my soulmate cat, Miso, to pulmonary carcinoma. Navigating his diagnosis and treatment was one of the most heartbreaking experiences of my life. I was lucky to be able to afford his care, advocate for him, and be with him every step of the way. But I also know that not every family has the resources, finances, or support system to do the same.

That’s why I’m running the 2026 Chicago Marathon with Live Like Roo.

I started running in the fall of 2024, the same time Miso was diagnosed, as a way to clear my head and to stay grounded through the uncertainty. Running quickly became a source of strength for me, and now I’m honored to turn that strength into something that helps others.

This marathon is my tribute to Miso’s life and spirit, and my commitment to helping other pets and families facing the unimaginable. Every dollar raised goes directly toward giving pets a fighting chance and giving pet parents the support they need.
