Hope for Hayes: A Story of Courage, Strength, and Hope

Every great story begins with a challenge. Every hero faces trials that test their strength, resilience, and heart. Every Disney princess—those timeless symbols of courage and perseverance—teaches us that even in the darkest moments, hope shines the brightest.

Before he was even born, Hayes was diagnosed with Down Syndrome. From the very beginning, his journey has been one of resilience, proving that true strength isn’t measured by limitations but by the ability to rise above them. His journey, like those of the princesses we admire, is filled with unexpected twists, towering obstacles, and moments where giving up might seem like the only option. But just like Cinderella, who found hope in the ashes, or Moana, who braved the unknown to follow her calling, Hayes continues to push forward with unbreakable spirit and determination.

Inspired by his unwavering determination, I am taking on my own challenge in his honor: completing the Disney Fairytale Challenge—19.3 miles during the Walt Disney World Princess Half Marathon weekend. Every step I take is for Hayes and for every child who, like him, faces obstacles with a heart full of bravery.
