2025 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend - Team Hope Story

Thank you for considering making a donation for me as I work hard to meet my goal of running in the 2025 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend on Team Hope Story. Those of you that know my story know that I have personally come a long way to be able to participate in these running events.  

It was only 3 short years ago that I was only able to walk short distances with the assistance of a walker or cane, and all my Disney trips required the use of an ECV.  Fast forward 3 years, many miles, lots of dedication, and subtract 200 lbs, and here we are….running in Disney races. 

 In 2023, I participated in my first Run Disney race, the Springtime Surprise 5K. I had so much emotion crossing that finish line, realizing that what I had once believed impossible had just been accomplished. In 2024, I am pushing myself even further.  I am participating in the Springtime Surprise 10K in April 2024. My goal is to keep completing the next level, with the ultimate goal of a 1/2 marathon. 

Through Hope Story, I am going to be able to do that, along with a 5K, 10K, 10miler…the full Princess Challenge. While achieving “the impossible “ myself, I am going to be able to give back to a charity that supports families that are facing their own “impossible”. Hope Story supports families of children that have received a Down syndrome diagnosis. 

 All of us know someone affected by this diagnosis. What’s incredible is seeing how these children overcome the hardships that this diagnosis brings, and how they bring such joy to those around them despite those challenges. The parents of these children are also nothing short of hero’s, who deserve to be recognized and supported in their journey of raising such special people. Any little bit that I can do to assist this effort is a privilege.
