2025 Live Like Roo Foundation Marathon Team

Confession: I'm scared about running a marathon. Like VERY scared, petrified, really. But if you know me, you know how much I love dogs (& that I've run a half, so what's adding 13.1 more miles to that? lol)  - so I decided to give this a shot while raising money for them. 

Thankfully, I haven’t had to face a cancer diagnosis with my rescue rascal, I mean dog, Winston, but so many families do, and I can only imagine the journey can be heart-wrenching. That’s why I’m running this marathon and raising money for Live Like Roo. For dogs with cancer and the families who love them.  Live Like Roo does incredible work to support dogs in their toughest battles, and every dollar I raise will help give dogs a chance at more years of belly rubs, kisses, walkies, and yummy treats. I would be SO very thankful if you help me reach my goal and donate to this cause. 

The Live Like Roo Foundation started in 2015 when a shelter dog named "Sisqo" captured the heart of Sarah, our Executive Director. When he was rescued and renamed "Roosevelt" (Roo) and undergoing a medical exam, they found cancer. It was terminal. He was given a bucket list and lived like a king for 6 months. Many people followed his journey and Sarah was inspired to help others in his honor. Since 2016, we have granted over $2.3 million dollars for pets and rescue animals with a cancer diagnosis and sent 5500 cancer care packages. We hope that everyone, sick or not, lives every day like it is your last. Live Like Roo.
