Goal
Teach one → Train hundreds → Power thousands.
In 2015, I taught an all-women’s solar class in Kenya. During that training, a small group of students shared a dream: they wanted to start an organization to train more women in solar energy across Kenya.
Over the past decade, Remote Energy has worked closely with that group—now known as WISEe (Women in Sustainable Energy and Entrepreneurship)—as they turned their dream into reality. We’ve trained their instructors, co-created curriculum, and collaborated on countless projects.
Their momentum is awesome:
We now have 9 Kenyan Remote Energy Instructors, who teach with us and help run Remote Energy’s online and in-person lab courses.
In the last 5 years, WISEe has taught 1,200 students
Since 2024, 55 women have reported career advancements including 7 new solar licenses being awarded to female professionals in Kenya—a remarkable milestone in a traditionally male-dominated field.
As we look to the year ahead, we want to build on this success—expanding these programs and partnerships to more countries, so more women can access training, earn credentials, and create sustainable careers in clean energy.
Your continued support makes this possible. Each donation helps us teach one—so that she can train hundreds and ultimately power thousands.
