Goal

Hope Story’s mission is to provide resources, support, and hope to families whose child has received a Down syndrome diagnosis. Hope Story provides education to medical professionals who deliver the diagnosis and free resources they can pass along to the families. Hope Story also has the goal of connecting every OB/GYN in America with a "Hope Advocate" as they call them, or a family raising a child with Down syndrome.

Over 60% of pregnancies in the U.S. that are given the diagnosis of Down syndrome are terminated. Hope Story’s mission is that when the diagnosis is given by a doctor, it comes with confidence, accuracy, no-cost resources, and hope.

I’ve joined Team Hope Story this year for the 2024 Halloween Disneyland Race Weekend, and what that means is that I have committed to help spread awareness and raise $2,000 for their organization before my next race, the first week of September.

Every dollar that you give here through my fundraising page is:

1. Tax Deductible (Hope Story is a 501c3 nonprofit organization).

2. Helping me reach my fundraising goal for this next race.

3. Helping to fund an amazing organization with this passionate goal of spreading hope to families.

Here's how your donation can be put to work:

$5.00 - Prints 10 “How to Deliver a Down Syndrome Diagnosis with Hope” Booklets.

$10.00 - Prints 8 Hope Stories Booklets, which answer questions in story form that new parents may have. These books are distributed nationwide to new parents and physicians.

$25.00 - Provides one Hope Kit to an existing parent of a child with Down syndrome so they can “adopt” their medical professional and provide peer support to new local parents.

$50 - Produces material for twenty medical professional folders, providing resources to help medical professionals deliver a Down syndrome diagnosis to new parents.

$75 - Provides and ships one box (thirty books) of Hope Stories Booklets to a medical office to give to families with a new diagnosis.

$100 - Helps create five podcasts that can encourage parents with a child with Down syndrome.

$250 - Helps maintain, host, and update the Hope Story website so that they can continue to reach new families.

$500 - Funds a table for Hope Story's medical professional dinners. These dinners allow medical professionals to hear firsthand from families raising a child with Down syndrome and experienced medical providers who have cared for families of children with Down syndrome for over a decade.

$1000 - Helps create new video content for new parents and medical professionals.

Thank you for reading and your consideration in donating to this wonderful organization.
