TRIP OVERVIEW
This clinic serves those in need from the indigenous Huichol People Group. We currently serve in a village called Huaynamota, which is geographically located in the center of about 200 villages in the isolated mountains of Central Mexico. We serve upon the invitation of the village chief and elders and are honored to be their guests and to be a part of their efforts to serve those in great need within their community. We also coordinate with local health officials and serve together as one team to bring hope, help and healing.
Doctors and Dentists from Mexico typically join the U.S. team and it's a wonderful time of genuine partnership and friendship.
Typical Schedule:
Tue - Travel to Tepic and stay in hotel Tues night.
Wed - Fri Clinics and service projects in the village(s).
Sat - Clean up, travel back to Tepic.
Sun - Return home after breakfast.
THE NEED
Mission Flight starts where driving becomes too dangerous or difficult or impossible.
We need:
- licensed professionals of all disciplines.
- medical / dental students.
- people who have a heart for children.
- Construction volunteers.
- Commercial / Instrument pilots.
Only together we bring hope, help, and healing to those that are hardest to reach.
TRIP FEES
Serving the poor through free medical clinics is very expensive, especially when combined with aircraft operating costs. This calling, however, is extremely meaningful and rewarding. The trip fees do not cover the bulk of the clinic or aircraft operating costs and are thus subsidized by those who faithfully give and support this work. Thank you to those who give and partner with us behind the scenes!
The trip fees include:
- round-trip shared fuel cost for the flight to/from Southern California to Tepic (Option 1)
- all meals that we eat as a group, but not at the hotel or restaurant (Option 1 and 2)
- all bottled drinking water (Option 1 and 2)
- air shuttle or boat ride from Tepic to Huaynamota (Option 1 and 2)
- ground transportation (Option 1 and 2)
- hotel in Tepic on Sat night and on Tues night if required.
The price does not include:
- Visa Fees. It costs approximately $42 to enter and $12 to exit (bring cash and small bills)
- any meals / drinks at a restaurant (This gives the team more flexibility and options)
- additional days "added on"
- extra snacks or personal items
- traveler's insurance or trip cancellation insurance
THE SUPPORT TEAM
A "support volunteer" can serve with translation, construction, vehicle maintenance, children's outreach or VBS, music, crafts, prayer team, etc.

ACCOMMODATIONS
While in the village we "camp out" and sleep inside simple structures in sleeping bags on a concrete floor with a metal roof over our head, or outside in tents. There is one shower with no hot water that we can typically use, but plan on having no showers. There are simple restrooms available.
Bring a sleeping bag and small backpacking tent.
Note: You must be in good physical condition for this trip.
Meals are prepared by our amazing cooks while in the village.
We typically stay at Hotel Nekie in Tepic on Saturday night (and Tues night if needed).
