Goal
I am a dancer here at Stage Door Dance and also a member of the Be More Performance Ensemble (BMPE). I have been a part of BMPE for around seven years and ever since I could remember we have had a benefit show. This benefit show is a fundraiser for an organization that the performers pick. However this year we decided to support three organizations Myra’s Angels, Healing Transitions, and AJ and the Cool Kids.
Myra’s Angels is an organization that was created to make a difference in homeless or foster kids. They do this through giving bags that are packed with essentials out to these kids to help them through their hard times. Their mission is to change these kids' lives through life enhancing strategies. Their vision is to help and support as many kids in need as they can.
Healing Transitions is an organization that helps people struggling with addiction no matter who they are. They offer innovative peer - based recovery services that are free and open to anyone struggling with addiction. Their program is striving to help a person rekindle the desire and ability to lead a productive life. Their overall goal is to create a community where addiction is looked at as a health problem and acknowledged.
AJ and the Cool Kids is an organization committed to providing financial support and educating many communities about autism. This organization was created by a mother whose miracle son was diagnosed with autism at eighteen months. So she dedicated her life to becoming her son's best advocate. She then decided to create this organization to help educate other parents that might have a child with autism on how they can advocate for their child.
So help support your community and make it a better place by donating today. We will celebrate each of these organizations throughout the year and will formally recognize each at our 2024 Benefit Show, The Be More Battle, which will be held Saturday, April 27th, 2024 at Stewart Theatre at NC State University. So don’t forget to come to the show to see how you have contributed!
