2023 HFFC Thanksgiving Campaign
The refugee crisis is even more pressing than in 2021, when HFFC held its first Thanksgiving campaign to support refugee resettlement in Connecticut. The number of people who have fled their homes in search of safety and stability is now 110 million, up 19 million since the end of 2021. Of these, 35M are refugees, people who have fled to another country awaiting resettlement in a third.
HFFC has chosen to collect donations from our members and friends to assist two groups of volunteers in Stamford and Ridgefield, towns which have assisted refugee families since 2016 and will soon welcome a new refugee family. The campaign will run only through November, during which we hope to collect $2,000 – largely in donations of $50 per person.
