I was born on March 14, 1990. I am a proud Special Olympics Washington athlete in three different sports- Swimming 🏊♀️, Bowling 🎳, and Basketball 🏀⛹️♀️. I am a Special Olympics swimmer 🏊♀️, bowler 🎳, and basketball 🏀 player ⛹️♀️. I will add Artistic Gymnastics 🤸🏼♀️ to my list of Special Olympics sports sometime in the near future. I have been involved in Special Olympics since January 2006, after my psychologist/psychotherapist/counselor at the time- Dr. Felice Orlich, PhD- recommended to my parents & I that I join Special Olympics and become a multi-sport athlete.
Back in 2009-2011, I attended a Special Education 18-21 Transition Program under Chief Sealth International High School that involves volunteering at the Swedish Medical Center Hospital 1st Hill campus near Downtown Seattle. My tasks there involved folding clean scrubs, towels, and linen in the hospital’s linen room, taking and delivering all the carts with clean linen to many areas of the hospital- including to patients’ rooms.
I am also a volunteer at my local Swedish Medical Center Hospital 🏥 Edmonds campus in Edmonds, Washington, USA, and at West Seattle Elementary School. I have been volunteering at West Seattle Elementary School since September 2011, serving as teacher’s assistant involving preparing projects for the teachers, reading books and checking books out to the students, and creating projects for the teachers and the other staff at the school. Did I also mention… I was honored with a special medal 🏅 and a standing ovation 👏 at the Awards Night event of the high school that the Special Ed. Program I worked at the Swedish MC Hospital back in 2009-2011 under- Chief Sealth Intl. High School.
My parents & I have been living in and around Seattle since November 1999, when I was still only 9 years old. From November 1999 until December 2017, my parents & I have lived in the Admiral District of West Seattle. In December 2017, my parents & I moved out of West Seattle and moved to a large condominium in the northern outskirt Edmonds.
After the disappointment of not having made Team WA 2022 for the Orlando 2022 USA Games as a swimmer 🏊♀️, I am aiming and striving to be selected as a swimmer 🏊♀️ for Team WA 2026 for the Special Olympics 2026 USA Games in a city that is yet to be determined- four years after Orlando 2022.
