On December 6, 2021, my life changed forever when my son Noah was born. When my wife Katelyn and I were told that Noah had Down Syndrome, we were at a complete loss for what to do. The life we thought we were going to have as parents disappeared in an instant.
That same day, a friend connected me to Rick Smith and told me about Hope Story. Rick was the first person I was able to talk to about raising a child with Down Syndrome. Rick told me what a blessing his son was to their family, and that he wouldn't choose to change one single chromosome on him. That's when I knew that Katelyn and I would be okay. Quite simply, Rick gave me hope when I needed it most!
I knew Rick was a runner, and he mentioned that Hope Story might be a charity for this year's marathon. As an NYC resident for 13 years, it's always been a dream of mine to run the New York City Marathon. I've cheered so many runners on from the sidelines over the years, always hoping that one day I could join them! And now, I will! I'm thrilled to be running my first marathon with Team Hope Story, and raising money for a cause I care deeply about.
Noah, this one's for you!
And a HUGE thank you to my wife, Katelyn, for supporting my training and making this dream possible!
***Fundraising Tiers***
- $50 and above: You can add any song of your choosing to my training playlist (must be on Spotify, and yes, I will listen to it!)
- $100 and above: The first 26 people to donate $150 or more will get to add a song to my playlist, sponsor a mile of their choice, and have their name on my fundraising page!
- $150 and above: A Spotify track, a sponsored mile, plus I'll record a personalized video thanking you while out on the training trail and post it here on my fundraising page!
