2019 Commissioned Work for Orchestra and Chorus
Nashville in Harmony has begun working with Kelly Corcoran and Intersection Contemporary Ensemble to commission a brand new work for orchestra and chorus. In May of 2019, we will premier that work. The composer for this work is TJ Cole and she’s an independent, next generation, lesbian composer from Atlanta. TJ has been commissioned by the Cincinnati Symphony, the Louisville Orchestra, and the Baltimore Symphony, as well as many other groups. We are already working with TJ to create a work that will grow organically out of our mission, exploring the spectrum and fluidity of gender and sexuality and identity, a mixed-genre musical work in the style of a graphic novel. Doesn’t that sound amazing?!
We need your help to kick-start that project. Your generosity can make it possible for NiH to be part of the creation of this unique and exciting new work and to promote the genius of a young lesbian composer. Anyone who contributes a gift of $300 or more will be listed in the program and on our website as a Commission Catalyst Patron.
If you have a passion for NiH, if you believe in us and our mission, here is your way to make an impact. You can feel proud that we will put your investment to good use. Our community is what it takes to help get us there. Remember that all gifts at or above $300 will receive special recognition as Commission Catalysts at the premiere of our new collaborative work in May 2019.
