Celebrate the 12 Days of Education! Prize drawings every day for 12 days.

This year during The 12 Days of Education, you decide where to invest your donation to the Rockingham County Education Foundation. You also will be entered in a prize give away, every day, for 12 days, beginning December 12. The grand prize is a weekend in the lovely oceanfront Holt Condo on Caswell Beach.*

If you choose the College Advising Corps, your gift will help ensure Rockingham County seniors have access to one-on-one personal help from a near-peer advisor who has just walked their path, knows the obstacles to getting into college, and helps students find their way. Last academic year, the the College Advising Corps reached 90% of Rockingham County high school seniors and helped them secure $8 million in offered scholarships.

Perhaps you want to help ensure a high school junior or senior has opportunity for a college campus visit. Our goal this year is to bring 90 students to Rockingham Community College to see what this terrific local resource has to offer these students. We just completed the first campus visit (19 students) and have another scheduled for Dec. 18 (21 students) - putting us at almost halfway to our goal before spring!

Research shows that the "average bachelor’s degree holder funnels $278,000 more into local economies than the average wage earner with only a high school diploma. These same alumni will also contribute $44,000 more in local and state taxes that advance civil services, enhance infrastructure, fund public schools and support the arts." So your investment isn't just about helping young people - you are helping your entire community, and we love you for it!

Or, you might choose Trails K12. You will be helping get students out of the classroom and onto local trails for outdoor learning experiences. So far this year, Trails K12 has built more than a half mile of trails at local schools and helped 640 students have quality academic and recreational time on those trails.

With loss of school based art and music programs, RCEF is stepping in with Piedmont Folk Legacies to provide guitar, fiddle, and violin lessons to 3rd - 5th graders across Rockingham County. No student is turned away because of inability to pay, and so far, we've helped provide 540 lessons, including loaner instruments - making the program even more accessible.

Regardless of where you choose to invest, you can be assured that your donation will go directly into highly effective programs that help students build a bright future for themselves.

Beginning Dec. 12, tune into Facebook for the daily drawing:
