A LONG WAY TO GO
Nurses are changing the landscape of health and healthcare throughout
our local and global communities. “A LONG WAY TO GO” is a new documentary film and educational campaign created by filmmakers Carolyn Jones and Lisa Frank of the American Nurse Project. The film traces the journeys of three pioneering nurses who emigrated to the United States from the Philippines, Ghana and India, weaving their deeply personal stories into a larger tapestry of global health and migration. Telling the story of global nursing is especially important now, as fears around immigration often overshadow the essential contributions migrants make to society—particularly in healthcare. Organizations and individuals looking for ways to spark meaningful dialogue about immigration, healthcare, and global interdependence are encouraged to show their support for the project below.
