SUPPORT THE FUTURE OF 10KIF

We're a small charity with a big mission: we want to build a more inclusive world of work.

To do this, we create internship opportunities for underrepresented talent, but the changing environment of the last year has been tough and now we are responding to a legal challenge about the eligibility criteria of one of our programmes.

Since 2020, we’ve created more than 10,000 internships. We also support our alumni through training and development and shape practice and policy through our data driven insights.

Our programmes are lawful, evidence-based positive action measures under Section 158 of the Equality Act 2010, designed to address clear and persistent underrepresentation. We are confident in the legal basis of our approach.

We are a small team of 12, and are gratefully receiving pro-bono legal support, but our future depends on your support as we navigate this challenging period.

Every little helps, but if you want to go further with a donation of over £2,500 or to support us in a different way, please contact Nana, at nana@10000internsfoundation.com

This scheme gave my friends and me from disadvantaged backgrounds a much-needed break into the industry, and connections we may never have had otherwise. It's a shame that those from disadvantaged backgrounds are being targeted like this.

I just saw a story on Instagram where Sophie Corcoran is suing you for discrimination(!!!). What you do is important, so I hope my small contribution can help.

Suing a charity that is helping an underrepresented community is a new low. They only want to talk about equality when we're closing the gap. I wonder if they would keep this same energy if it was 10,000 Jewish interns 🤔

I recently got a role as a consultant - because 10k was early in helping me find an internship in engineering which helped me realised it wasn't for me. The value in having the time to find what is right for you isn't something that everyone is afforded. Thank you

Your work is so valuable - don’t be discouraged by people pushing their own agendas and profile.

Thank you for getting me my internship, I have a full time job now in that organisation. I would've never gotten a secure place in the charity sector <3

Your organisation helped me to get my foot in the door in an otherwise impossible and nightmarish job market after graduation. My internship was an incredible learning opportunity and has led me to a great job in the charity sector, this organisation has truly helped me to thrive. Thank you and good luck!

It’s such a shame that there are people who try to push back and halt the progression of people from underprivileged backgrounds. If it was not for the 10k foundation, I would not be getting the access to the internships I have today. This foundation has granted me the opportunity to be able to access the corporate industry. Please keep on going and continue to fight to help others 💪🏾.

Thank you for the work that you are doing. I was once a young black intern who passed it forward, and know the difference a ‘chance’ can make!
