SUPPORT THE FUTURE OF 10KIF
We're a small charity with a big mission: we want to build a more inclusive world of work.
To do this, we create internship opportunities for underrepresented talent, but the changing environment of the last year has been tough and now we are responding to a legal challenge about the eligibility criteria of one of our programmes.
Since 2020, we’ve created more than 10,000 internships. We also support our alumni through training and development and shape practice and policy through our data driven insights.
Our programmes are lawful, evidence-based positive action measures under Section 158 of the Equality Act 2010, designed to address clear and persistent underrepresentation. We are confident in the legal basis of our approach.
We are a small team of 12, and are gratefully receiving pro-bono legal support, but our future depends on your support as we navigate this challenging period.
Every little helps, but if you want to go further with a donation of over £2,500 or to support us in a different way, please contact Nana, at nana@10000internsfoundation.com

10,000 Black Interns changed my life. I had experienced homelessness, was struggling and never imagined I could belong in corporate spaces. You gave me support, confidence and a way into rooms I once thought were completely out of reach for someone like me. More people deserve that same chance!

I got my first internship through this programme and it gave me experience when all other avenues didn't work. This lawsuit is nothing but sad people punching down. Good luck 10kbi!

I’ve been thinking of you all following the recent news and wanted to reach out with support. Moments like this can feel heavy, especially when the work you’ve built with such care, dedication, and purpose is being challenged so publicly. I hope you’re able to take strength from the community around you, the individuals whose lives have been changed through your programmes, and the clarity of your purpose. I’m hopeful the courts will see this lawsuit for the farce it is! Thinking of you all and wishing you steadiness and support in the days ahead. I will do all I can to help. Best wishes, Matt

As someone who came from a lower working class immigrant background I am grateful that organisations like yours were created to help people like me, I wont say that the internship was life changing but I've learnt that in order to make your way you need to take every chance you can get, through my own hard work I've gotten the degree to start a well earning career the internship helped with money and adding something to my CV, that is not much but it makes a big difference when you come from an immigrant background without any family support system in the country, the fact that far right lunatics can't acknowledge this is beyond baffling

Although, I haven’t been able to intern through you, I have still gained valuable support and advice through the pre-application workshops. As someone who is half-white and half-black, who is accepted by the entry criteria, I am disgusted that someone has gone out of their way to take legal action against such an amazing programme, they clearly are too ignorant to understand the challenges we as young people from under represented backgrounds are facing to secure work experience and jobs. Thank you to all the team for helping so many young people !! :)

10,000 Interns Foundation is an exceptional organisation that creates opportunities for exceptional students and job seekers from underrepresented groups. I, for one, look forward to the court's affirmation that positive action to address underrepresentation is to be applauded, rather than vilified.

You broke barriers for kids who couldn’t do so themselves. You changed my life and many others. Don’t back down and know that one spoon of chocolate can change a whole glass of milk.

10,000 Black Interns is amazing and purpose driven company that helps to bridge the workplace inequalities that disproportionately impact access and equality for those of black heritage and other historically marginalised groups. It is important that these equality driven initiatives are supported and protected as seen with initiatives towards womens' rights, disability rights and LGBTQ+ rights.

My thoughts & best wishes are with you guys at this challenging time. I have been a beneficiary of the tremendous impact of your internship programme. It gave me the confidence & an opportunity to step my foot in the UK job market after receiving several rejection emails despite already being a mid-career Chartered Accountant from my home country.
