Thousands of survivors of the Nova Festival and decimated Kibbutz communities have not received any mental health support, with devastating results. ELEM is urgently stepping in to support these youth with extreme trauma.
Despite the vast scale of trauma, too many survivors are struggling alone. Instead of finding support, young survivors are turning to isolation, repression, substance abuse, self-harm, and in severe cases, suicide.
In response to this urgent situation, the Israeli government engaged ELEM to organize effective therapeutic options for survivors, and directly connect these services to the youth most in need.
ELEM's Yuvalim: The 10.7 Survivor Project is a specialized program to identify and support young adult and teen survivors of the October 7th attacks; connect them to appropriate interventions; and accompany them along the way, to ensure they continue to access the resources entitled to them. The Yuvalim initiative will ensure that the highest risk survivors receive the life-saving, trauma-informed care they desperately need.
Led by ELEM’s Anashim Tovim (Good People) harm reduction team—of which three staff members were killed the Nova Festival massacre—and leveraging decades of mutual trust with Israel’s youth population and rave subculture, Yuvalim operates in collaboration with Yated (American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee), the Ministry of Welfare, and the Tribe of Nova Foundation.
Your support is vital to ensuring that no young survivor of the horrors of the October 7th attack on Israel falls through the cracks. Donate today and double your impact. All donations to Yuvalim: The 10.7 Survivor Project will be matched.
