Case Update: Sentencing Is Over 

2 Years Probation, $600 Fine, 150 Hours Community Service

This husband and father’s long fight is finally coming to an end. 

David gets to be home with his wife and daughters, where he belongs.

Support Sergeant David Finnerty’s Fight for Justice

At 6:00 a.m. on August 31, 2023, FBI agents raided the home of Sergeant David Finnerty, shattering his family’s peace — and what was left of their American Dream. 

His youngest daughter, Charlotte, should have been starting kindergarten that morning. 

Instead, she watched her dad taken away in handcuffs. 

David will be sentenced in less than 30 days. The Pipe Hitter Foundation is working to raise $50,000 to fund his appeal bond – can you chip in $25, $50, or even $100 today to support his fight for justice?

• A Coast Guard veteran, honorably discharged after service-related injuries.
• A dedicated father of three daughters — Emma, Schuyler, and Charlotte.
• A Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) officer since 2002.

In 2018, David reported discrepancies in a fellow officer’s use-of-force report.  

Instead of being commended, he became the target of a politically motivated investigation. 

He’s been targeted for SEVEN years:  

• 2018–2022: Indicted, suspended without pay, and denied unemployment. His family endured four years without his income.
• October 2022: Cleared of all charges at the state level.
• 2023–Present: The same prosecutor who targeted him at the state level pursued federal charges. This led to the FBI raid and a federal trial.

David faces sentencing on September 22, 2025. We’re working to raise $50,000 in the next 30 days to support his appeal bond – and your gift today can give him a fair shot at justice.
