Radio Free Brooklyn is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to give a global voice to local artists, residents, community organizers and other nonprofit institutions by providing a commercial-free freeform Internet Radio platform.  We create diverse, engaging and entertaining experiences over the air and in real life with more than 90 live broadcasts weekly, live concerts, events, performances and art installations across New York City and around the world. 

RFB programming is produced independently by hosts and producers and includes a dynamic mix of voices across all backgrounds, experience levels, and interests. Its programming is free from the censorship and oversight that have become all too common in corporate media. 

Our 11-year-old station is entirely volunteer-owned and operated, and we currently fund it exclusively through our listener community and supporters like you.  Each dollar we receive goes to sustaining and growing our operation by helping to pay for things like:

• Rental of our studio in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY
• Maintaining our studio and technical facilities (mics, mixing boards, computers, etc.)
• Covering utilities and operating fees (licensing, electricity, internet, etc.)
• Producing high-impact public art at the intersection of politics and social justice
• Creating experiences to enjoy local music, comedy, art and culture across Brooklyn
