As we round out another fruitful year at Concrete Jungle, we’re asking you to make a donation so that we can get more fresh food to partners like Gabe at Jewish Family and Career Services. In the words of Gabe, “People say the pandemic is over, but the struggle is not over. So many people are living close to poverty and are one life event away – whether it's some sort of car accident or whatever – that causes a major breadwinner to lose employment. It can put people in major trouble. And for a lot of people, the pandemic was that life event, and they just dug into a much deeper hole. And now it's gonna take time to dig out. So this need for food and food pantries is not going to go anywhere, anytime soon."

Concrete Jungle’s mission is to transform overlooked and underutilized fruit trees and land into a healthy food source for communities in need. We shake fruit trees around Atlanta and Athens and harvest the fruit. We visit farms across the state and bring volunteers to harvest the excess. We purchase excess and imperfect produce from farmers, in order to fill a gap in fresh produce access for Atlanta’s hunger-relief agencies. 

This year we have harvested and distributed 210,154 pounds (840,616 servings) of fresh, local produce! With this massive amount of produce harvested, we were able to serve 21,000 people (and counting). We get the freshest produce in town to the people who need it most.
