The power of an exposure trip is simple: it exposes students to new possibilities, inspires lifelong curiosity, and connects classroom learning to real-world impact.
Thanks to LAEP's Exposure Trips Fund, Los Angeles public school students will embark on hands-on adventures, from exploring environmental marine science at Algalita to discovering career pathways and landmarks across our city, all at no cost to their families.
At LAEP, we know equitable education extends far beyond four classroom walls. Like actress, writer, and producer Quinta Brunson—who helped launch a similar campaign in Philadelphia and shared how field trips "opened my world"—we believe in expanding a student's sense of possibility. Her sentiment reflects LAEP’s goal of ensuring all students can access transformative learning experiences beyond the classroom.
The majority of the students served by LAEP attend Title 1 schools, with most identifying as Black or Latino and qualifying for free or reduced-price meal programs.
