Atkins 2022 Campaign
Joe Atkins does a terrific job as our County Commissioner! With Joe as our County Commissioner since 2016, Dakota County:
- Paid off all county debt, making us one of the only counties in the country with zero debt.
- Earned the nation’s top county award for public safety, out of over 3,000 counties nationwide.
- Was named the nation’s top local health department.
- Fought off a railroad's scheme to pump and ship 500 million gallons of groundwater from Dakota County to states like Arizona.
However, doing a great job and working hard only go so far. Joe’s re-election campaign this year is costly and challenging, with redistricting adding thousands of new voters to Joe’s district of 68,000 residents. Plus, one of Joe’s opponents in this election just filed his first campaign finance report, showing acceptance of multiple $1,000+ donations – all from outside Dakota County.
This is why we are kicking off our campaign and fundraising efforts so early. Joe has been going door-to-door since early May, and the first of our mailings began in June. Now we just have to raise the remaining funds needed for printing and postage to get Joe’s 100% positive message out to voters.
